because,ghosts,being the souls or otherwise,of former people,can not choose where,or how they die.They haunt a certain place or residence,because of their untimely demise,and the thought of having to leave this world.So,the ghosts that you see or hear on these television programs, sit down and take some time to prey for them,because,who knows,that could be you one day,just thought this would help.
some people are born wit the “sixth” sense which is ability to see ghosts or other dead people and sometimes animals(Just guessing I have the “seventh” sense which is ability to see the dead as they crossover)
and some places have ghosts cause those are places where the ghost had a physical body then died
Mostly ghosts come from people who died “violent” deaths I’ve never heard of a person dying a “gentle” death(Old age, stillbirth, or quiet dying) haunting a place
