When a boy is first born these ghosts latch onto him, and because of that they are unable to go too far from the boy and spend their time with the boy. The boy grows up and in the end I believe they are in an amphitheater, which then leads to the man being left with 1 ghost?
A ghost also tries laying down during the movie to avoid having to follow the man any longer, to which he is then dragged when he reaches the limits.
