According to some religions, the soul stays trapped in the body until the day that everyone will be resurrected in the second coming. (Which leads to my question, how about those who were cremated?) Anyhow, they also do believe that these “ghosts” are actually evil spirits. (Spirits are also beings created by God, like us, but are invisible. There are good ones and there are bad. They will also be judged at the judgement day.) I also read somewhere that poltergeists are some sort of distant focused energy of some person which may or may not be controlled by that person. I really am not sure what to believe though. ;p

Since there is no evidence for ghosts, poltergeists or demons being real there is no way to objectively study them or determine what they could possibly do. Since they can’t be studied people have to make stuff up about them based on their own beliefs. I can see how it would be confusing with everyone saying contradictory things.
However if you take the stance that something is not real until it has been proved scientifically to exist, then the situation becomes simple, just as you most likely discard any stories of fairies and dragons as existing only in fantasy so too can you dismiss the idea of ghosts and demons.

This is a somewhat silly question since a poltergeist is defined as a ghost that makes noise or moves things.

It’s naturally confusing because you have many types of haunts, spirits, and some travel back and forth from other dimensions. You have ghost trapped on earth or close to our dimension, you have residual energy, you have demons, and spirits from many levels of and higher dimensions, and one being heaven.

I know all kinds of spirits can move things, even ghost if they collect enough energy to do so. I was and still am to some degree confuse on this at times, but one can ascertain more of what’s going on if and when you experience these spirits and paranormal happenings on a regular bases. I did have communications, and seen some to all of these types of spirit in just a four year span when they were all basically coming out of the wood work for those four years, I have learn a lot, especially from that one good spirit that was nice and communicated a lot with me.

Ghosts are real. Yes, ghosts can move things but it is difficult for them because they exist on a different frequency than do things on the material plane. In other words, there energy is different than the one in the physical and therefore it is harder for them to interact with things in the physical.

I have seen ghosts a few times in my life, it was not my imagination at all. You need to be careful, though, because spirits travel to the physical plane for all different reasons. Some are not ghosts but rather spirits that have moved on to the spirit world or exist in the spirit world already(angels, a deceased relative, a pet, etc.) while others are still clinging to their life on earth and choose to hang around because they cannot let go of something. Some spirits are nasty because they vibrate on a low frequency, meaning that they have negative energy. This could be for a variety of reasons such as because they are not ready to let go of whatever happened to them on earth or because they are from a demonic plane.

Spirits cannot hurt you so long as you maintain a positive energy level and ask that you be kept safe from them. Fear is the number one tool that negative spirits use agains’t you, so if you ever encounter one just stand your ground and tell it to go. Have no fear! But so long as you do not go messing around and trying to summon demons and make sure to keep a positive energy level(take care of your body, positive thoughts, positive friends, no drugs) then you probably will only come across neutral or good spirits.

Yes, both Ghosts and Poltergeists can move things but it is usually more characteristic of Poltergeists but there are some reports of ghosts moving things around in a prank-ing sort of way . Demons never existed in human form but they do try to entice and possess indivuduals though this is very uncommon but it does happen. I would not put it past a demon to try and trick a spirit or a person they are crafty and deceptive. No. It is really very simple.

Seeing as this is the science and maths section, I will give you scientific and mathematical answer. You see F=MA. where F=Force, M=Mass and A=Acceleration.
Therefore, for an object to move a force has to be accelerated upon a mass, by a mass. The definition of ghost prevents this as a ghost is supposedly an entity without mass. If ghosts were real and had mass, then you would see them everywhere.

You cannot have it both ways. Either it is a mass that can have accelerated force equal to or greater than any other object, or it does not. If it does not, it cannot move anything. If it does, it cannot be a ghost.

EDIT: err, sorry, I don’t get it. Why the thumbs down? Force is equal to Mass x Accleration. Or, did that change since I went to school some 20+ years ago? If so can someone please tell me what the new formular for moving an object is then?

A poltergeist is defined as a ghost that moves things. I have a problem with this – ghosts are supposed to be non-physical, right? In order to move a physical object that ghost would need to be physical itself; otherwise they are going to pass right through it. On the other hand if ghosts are physical, they would not be able to pass through walls and gravity would be a big problem for them. Its either one or the other.

So you can see the whole idea is implausible, and given we have no evidence for their existence; the only rational position is they more than likely don’t exist. I think they are a silly egotistical human superstition, and its time we moved on from this – its the 21st century.
