shut off all the lights in the house when it gets dark, then go to the center most part of the house, in the dark, while it is silent, and sit still not to make any sounds, and scarring yourself. just listen and seeif you hear or feel anything, if you get scarred, either there is a ghost or you are paranoid.

No skeptic here. The only thing I can tell you is to stop, listen and feel . It is like you know when you walk in your door after work and just feel someone was there. It’s a gut thing or shall I say instinct. The only tried and true method is to see one. Watch ghostbusters on the sci-fi channel. They have all kinds of ways of detecting ghosts, hauntings, recordings, poltergeists, etc. They go around to different places and use their equipment and try to debunk any ghosts that they have been told were there and most of the time they can. Its the times they can’t that are the most interesting. I know there is an afterlife but do not know where it is or if some souls go to god and some stay trapped. Hard question to answer. This is not a stupid question.
